{"id":28441,"date":"2022-08-22T17:36:33","date_gmt":"2022-08-22T16:36:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/phoca-mobil.be\/?p=28441"},"modified":"2022-08-29T17:37:34","modified_gmt":"2022-08-29T16:37:34","slug":"along-a-few-tourist-spots-on-the-ring-road-iceland-part-7","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/phoca-mobil.be\/en\/along-a-few-tourist-spots-on-the-ring-road-iceland-part-7\/","title":{"rendered":"Along a few tourist spots on the ring road | Iceland part 7"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Via Myvatn towards Askja<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Our visit to Myvatn consists of 3 short but beautiful walks. 1)Skutustadagigar, a circular walk in a protected area consisting of numerous small volcanic craters. 2)A walking loop at Kalfastr\u00f6nd, a small loop through a very beautiful lava field that is partly in the water. 3) Hverfjall a crater that was formed 2500 years ago with a circumference of 3.2Kilometers. It is a bit disappointing as we have recently visited the geothermal area of hveradalir and hveravellir. Well Hveradalir is the max. After Hverir we drive a little further to the volcanic area krafla. Fantastic. We had forgotten how beautiful it is there. We end the day out with a drive of 100 kilometers to our next sleeping place, a crater along the F88.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"pgc-sgb-cb wp-block-pgcsimplygalleryblock-grid \" journey continues to Studlagil. We don&#8217;t go there until the early evening. This is because of the rainy weather, but also because of the mass of tourists that come and go here. In the early evening we walk to the beautiful gorge where we are almost completely alone. Today we drive to Borgarfjordur to admire Puffins for the last time. This at the Hafnarholmi rock where a very large Puffin colony comes to breed and wow it really is a large colony, fantastic. We have never seen so many puffins together. planned to Egilsstadir for major shopping, a cleaning and unfortunately also a refueling. We drive on calmly and on the way we pass by waterfall Hengifoss where we walk to in fairly stormy conditions and then on to the F910. Goodbye mass tourism, hello peace and freedom without signs, poles and strings that you have to stay between.
